Well, friends. We have had an eventful 9 years. However, the time has come for Orange Anime to turn 10 years old. On the weekend of October 19th, Orange Anime members from all across the state of Florida are going to meet in Orlando to celebrate Orange Anime’s 10th Birthday. To start the Anniversary off we are planning an outing to Halloween Horror Nights on Friday. This has been a staple of Anniversary past and we are keeping this tradition going.
This year Orange Anime will be staying at the Hawthorn Suites Universal (http://www.hawthornsuitesuniversal.com/) for the duration of Anniversary. We are opting not to do a room block, but the room rate is inexpensive.
In addition to Halloween Horror Nights, we will be hosting the Annual O-Wards and Roast. If you would like to attend then please post in our Anniversary thread (http://orangeanime.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=21245
) so we may get a headcount of who to expect. Events and Outings will be posted later this week. From all of the Staff at Orange Anime we would love to see everyone come out to celebrate Orange Anime turning 10 years old. Thanks again!
-The Orange Anime Staff
Every once and a while, a person comes along that inspires us. Someone that lifts us up off of our feet and compels us to do great things and inspire people. Well, here at Orange Anime, that person doesn’t exist, so we’re going to roast the next person in line. This year, at Orange Anime’s 10th Anniversary, we’re going to assemble a team of roasters to commit verbable torture against one of our own..but who shall that be?
That’s for you to decide!
All you have to do is choose your top 3 members that you would like to see roasted. AlephZero, EmpressAuthor and FJ have already been roasted, so they aren’t to be picked, respectively.
Have fun, and happy roasting.
Hey there! Mizucon has come and gone for yet another year. The convention was held at the Miami DoubleTree Hotel right at the end of summer. School has started and we the fans of videogames, anime, and Japanese culture have to put on our regular clothes and go back to school. But we can always look back at the last convention of the summer which was filled with great things to see and do.
Some of the highlights included the 3000 Brigade’s new show, which featured various videogame characters fighting it out over ownership of their show. This show featured many extravagant costumes and dance routines that many fans enjoyed and has come to be the main draw of the convention.
To all Orange Anime members!
In order to kickstart some new shirt prints, we would like to ask you all to vote for a couple of designs by our very own member Toaster.
Below are two designs that are currently up on Qwertee.com for review. Using this medium would potentially allow artists from the OA community to contribute to our very own OA-branded apparel.
So be sure to vote by clicking the images below. (You may have to create an account with Qwertee in order to vote, but hey, it’s worth it!)
On my last post i started interviewing Florida cosplayer: Brittany Jung, as she cosplayed as Zelda from The Legend of Zelda.
Now we will continue our interview as we learn about Brittany’s experiences as one of the most well known and beloved Nintendo Princesses of all time: Princess Zelda.
Today we will be continuing our VideogameCosplay Interview series, today we have a Florida cosplayer known as Brittany Jung as she cosplays Zelda from The Legend of Zelda. She is a 22 year old cosplayer that studies photography, she aspires to one day run her own costume photography studio. She started gaming around 6 or 7 years old, playing the original Legend of Zelda back on the NES. Now she enjoys RPGS, action/adventure, and fighting games. Her favorite game is Kingdom Hearts.
Start AFO off the right way with a strong, delicious breakfast.
We at Orange Anime want to invite everyone to join us at Perkins Restaurant (6813 W Sand Lake Rd, Orlando, Florida 32819-9302) on Friday, August 3rd at 10:00 am for a pre-con get together. Hey there this is Onizuka Chris and I am here to provide you with a look into the life of Florida’s cosplayers and their costumes. I will be interviewing local cosplayers and letting you find out more about them. Every month I will be interviewing a new cosplayer. This time I would like to feature one of Orange Anime’s own staff member. Jillian Husted, also known as “Ixka1kai” on the forums. She will be sharing her experiences as she talks about her cosplay of Larxene from Kingdom Hearts.
1. As a female cosplayer, why did you take an interest in this character and how close does the character resemble your personality?
I would say that Larxene is pretty much the exact opposite of me (except for maybe the b****y part). I wanted a character where I can be what I am not and attempt to have some more confidence. What initially drew me to Larxene in particular was the fact that she wanted to overthrow the ultimate evil to get a greater position of power.
